5 Self-Love Activities You Should Try Weekly!

1. Write a letter to yourself

Have you ever written a letter to yourself? If not, give it a try! This activity can bring out a lot of emotions; however, you will feel so much better! This activity gives you the ability to learn more about yourself and increase self-awareness! The letter does not have to be long at all! Just write whatever you feel called to write about yourself. Show yourself gratitude. Write about the things you like and dislike. Write about your hair, your favorite body part, your favorite food; whatever! Just write. 

2. Read Self-Help Books

Reading self-help books can help you discover who you are! It helps ignite your self-worth, self-esteem, and self-image, which is all SELF-LOVE! My favorite self-help book is You Are A Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero. There are 1000s of books! Do a quick search on Google, Amazon, Yahoo to find the best books for you! 

3. Eat High Vibrational Foods

High Vibrational foods are mainly fruits and vegetables that'll help you vibrate on a high frequency resulting in confidence, happiness, love, etc. The result of a healthy gut is a healthy brain! Being mindful of what you consume on a daily basis can have either a negative or positive affect on your mood, happiness, health, etc. Shameless Plug; I  still eat meat; however, I make sure I  am also giving my body fruits and vegetables daily! Don't stop eating meat; however, limit the amount of processed foods, sugars, and caffeine you consume on a daily basis. 

A list of high vibrational foods includes, but not limited to:

Leafy greens- collards, kale, spinach and/or cabbage

Fruits- blueberries, pomegranates, apples, oranges, etc. 

Vegetables- carrots, cucumbers, broccoli, peppers; etc. 

 4. Recite Affirmations in the Mirror

OMG! This is my FAVORITE activity ever! Every morning during my morning routine, I  recite affirmations in the mirror while looking at myself. My affirmations are simple, yet so powerful! Make your self-love affirmations about you! No one can take them from you because they are yours! Use the words "I AM" Those two words are so powerful when affirming who you are. Here are 5 "I AM" affirmations to get you started: 

I AM BEAUTIFUL! I  AM ENOUGH! I  AM STRONG! I  AM POWERFUL. I  AM LIVING MY BEST LIFE. 

5. Buy yourself flowers.

I live by the quotes- "Give yourself flowers while you can still smell them" -SouLvenir ; why? Because if you don't shower yourself with love then who is supposed to? Grab your favorite flowers and place them in a place in your home you will see everyday and let it be a reminder that you growing and blooming everyday. This will remind you to be gentle with yourself and extend grace as needed.
